The Low-Down!
The Pyle outdoor Bluetooth speakers offer incredible value for money with an easy-to-install, great-sounding, and versatile set of outdoor speakers that are more than suitable for indoor use as well. What makes these speakers unique is their inclusion of built-in Bluetooth capabilities, which are rarely found in patio speakers, thanks to the built-in amplifier.

For those who entertain outside on a more regular basis or simply don’t want the inconvenience of lugging a portable Bluetooth speaker in and out when hosting a party on your deck, having a barbeque with the family, or just enjoying a sundowner and want some music to accompany the great outdoors, a pair of permanently installed speakers would tick multiple boxes and are becoming a commonly-seen piece of tech on many porches/decks.
Designed for outdoor use, the Pyle outdoor Bluetooth speakers (PDWR62BTBK) can be mounted practically anywhere and promise to deliver high-quality audio through straightforward wireless pairing for outdoor home entertainment.
Design and Feel
Resembling small PA-like speakers, the Pyle outdoor Bluetooth speakers measure 8.4 x 7.5 x 12.1 inches and weigh only 8 ounces each. Built using the same manufacturing standards applied to marine-grade speakers using stain-resistant and rustproof speaker grilles, these speakers are certified marine grade, meaning they will technically survive even heavy rainfall and storms, though I’d personally recommend unmounting them during winter.
While these Pyle Bluetooth speakers are built to withstand outdoor weather conditions, there’s nothing stopping you from mounting these to your walls inside for your home theatre, kitchen, or entertainment area, as their inoffensive design compliments most home décor styles, where the grille can be removed if you’re after a more high-tech aesthetic.
At a slightly cheaper price point, if you’re not concerned with built-in Bluetooth capabilities, you can grab a pair of Kicker KB6B indoor/outdoor wall-mounted speakers. They are about as loud and sound just as good but come in a few different colors.
Sound Quality
- Lacks a bit of low-end response with a frequency response range of 80Hz – 20kHz
- Balanced and clear audio production
The Pyle Outdoor Bluetooth Speakers are powered by a 300W built-in amplifier, running the ‘master’ speaker, while the secondary, or ‘slave,’ is passively powered. Each speaker encloses a 6.5-inch woofer and 1-inch dome tweeter, delivering full-range frequency representation from each speaker alone, starting at around 80Hz, and capping off at the usual 20kHz.
This frequency response, represented by the driver sizes and types used, as well as the enclosure’s high-density materials, makes for a pleasant-sounding party system. These speakers won’t generate earthquake-like bass movement or reach volumes that’ll get the neighbors calling the cops, but all music styles sound well-balanced and crisp, even at high volumes. The low-end is reasonably powerful, though the midrange and lower highs are where this speaker shines, dispensing crystal-clear and dynamic sounds that work for not only an extensive array of music styles but for radio, film, and podcasts, too.
Ease of Installation
With mounting brackets and an instruction manual included in the box, installing the Pyle outdoor Bluetooth speakers is rather painless. For a cleaner look, you can run the 12V power cable and Speakon cable in your drywall, though aside from cable management, installing these speakers is as simple as can be.
Once they’re mounted to your wall of choice, they can be swiveled and locked to whatever angle best suits your listening position. We recommend firing these speakers toward you, aimed at your ears, rather than straight across your ceiling or straight down to the floor.
Note: we’ve noticed some customers complaining about their speakers failing to work. A common cause of this issue can be found in the installation phase. To avoid this, we recommend stripping as much cable coating as possible and safe to promote better exposure within the socket.
Built-In Bluetooth Makes The Pyle PDWR62BTBK A Unique Set of Speakers
- One of few patio speakers to offer built-in Bluetooth capabilities
- The inclusion of Bluetooth 3.0 makes the Pyle a bit outdated in terms of connectivity
The main connectivity method used with these speakers is, of course, Bluetooth. The Pyle outdoor Bluetooth speakers offer only Bluetooth 3.0, though, which I’ll admit is rather disappointing, as this won’t support very long-range connectivity, and you could experience some latency issues if you’re using these speakers with a TV or other visual media. Alternatively, you can make use of the 3.5mm auxiliary input, which will eradicate the above potential issues, though you’ll either need a crazy long aux cable or another device that can act as an extender or adapter in a position that best suits you.
These speakers come as a stereo pair, so additional speakers can’t be purchased and simply added to the chain to form a surround-sound system or larger network in your garden, porch, or entertainment area. If this is what you’re looking to do, I’d recommend buying a dedicated power amp to use as your source device and assigning speakers to the various channels, though this will require impedance-matching and, in some cases, deciding whether to run your system in series or parallel fashion, so some research may be required here.
